Types of Retainers
Clear Retainers
Clear retainers are custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth and are nearly invisible when worn. You’ll typically wear them 18–24 hours per day at first, then transition to nighttime wear as directed.
Hawley Retainers
A colorful, removable retainer made with smooth acrylic and a wire that gently holds your teeth in place, helping keep your smile straight, healthy, and looking great after treatment.
Fixed (Permanent) Retainers
Fixed retainers are bonded to the back of your front teeth to prevent shifting. Because they stay in place, you don’t have to remember to take them in and out—making them a convenient, low-maintenance option.
